About the Role:

BNutty and Dilly’s Pet are offering a hands-on opportunity for a high school or vocational student interested in mechanical systems and equipment maintenance. As a Mechanic Intern, you’ll work alongside experienced mechanics and maintenance technicians to learn the fundamentals of maintaining food production equipment, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and supporting the day-to-day operations of a working food manufacturing facility.

This internship is ideal for students exploring careers in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or skilled trades—and provides valuable real-world experience in a high-demand field.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist  with routine maintenance and minor repairs on production equipment,      conveyors, mixers, and packaging machines
  • Learn  to safely operate tools and machinery under supervision
  • Support the maintenance team with equipment inspections and documentation
  • Help troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and participate in preventive      maintenance tasks
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and help track tools and parts
  • Shadow experienced mechanics to gain a better understanding of food processing      equipment and plant operations
  • Participate in safety training and follow all safety protocols while working on-site

Qualifications:

  • Interest in mechanics, maintenance, or industrial equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions carefully
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Basic understanding of tools and mechanical systems is a plus
  • Physically able to stand, bend, and lift light equipment or tools
  • Punctual, dependable, and eager to learn
