Job Description - Membership, Impact and Industry Intern, Summer 2026 (Gold Rising)

Workplace Location: Los Angeles – 8949 Wilshire
Compensation: $17.87 per hour

Summary/Objective:
The Membership, Impact and Industry Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Member Relations, Awards Administration, Global Outreach, Talent Development, and Science & Technology departments. The intern will work collaboratively with Academy internal staff to help ensure that all ongoing projects are on track by providing administrative support to all departments and contributing to the overall success of the organization. The candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, passionate about the film industry, and supportive of the Academy’s position as a global, year-round organization as well as a commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion.

This is a limited-term internship position beginning in June 2026 through August 2026.

Essential Functions of the Job:

Support all activities of the Academy’s Member Relations, Awards and Global Outreach department.
Provide support to the Manager, Membership, Impact and Industry, and senior leaders, including researching, assisting in preparing presentations, and other administrative duties.
Assist in supporting the Membership and Awards Admin programs, including helping organize and plan group events in both Los Angeles and other cities, maintaining program documentation and materials.
Collaborate with multiple Academy departments and maintain a high level of confidentiality for sensitive information and materials.
Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Competencies:

Community college, trade school, and university undergraduate (juniors, seniors) or graduate students from the class of 2024 and 2026 in good academic standing.
A minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
Exhibit a strong interest in the motion picture industry.
Excellent verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Beginner proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Ability to take direction and work well with others.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
Ability to work discreetly and professionally with high-level executives, talent, and the Board of Governors; work professionally and gracefully with Academy members and the public.
Night and weekend work may be required and may be assigned on short notice.

Required Vaccination: Full vaccination against COVID-19 is required, including any booster vaccinations as applicable. Exception: Medical and religious accommodations approved by the Office of People & Culture.

This internship is part of the Academy’s Gold Rising program, an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities, including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members.
