Mfg/Industrial Engineering Intern

Wilson Trailer, an industry leading manufacturer of Grain, Livestock, Gooseneck and Flat-bed Truck Trailers, is looking for a Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering Intern for the 2026 summer months at our manufacturing plant located in Yankton, SD

Primary Responsibilities Include:

1. Review and compose operating procedures for manufacturing processes.


2. Design and model fixturing and material holding equipment.


3. Assist plant engineers and techs with equipment repair.


4. Produce prototypes and production parts from 3D printers.

Desired Skills and Specifications:

1. Able to comprehend Engineering systems, for retrieval, filing and revising of drawings and bills of material.


2. Must be proficient with computers and basic office software.  CAD experience beneficial. 


3. Must demonstrate the desire to learn and acquire product line knowledge.


4. Must demonstrate the desire to learn and acquire new knowledge and skills.

Education and Qualifications:

• Industrial or Mechanical Engineering disciplines preferred.


• College Freshman or Sophomore status preferred.


• Possibility of minimal overnight travel.


• Able to work in heavy manufacturing environment. 


• Must wear safety-toed boots, hard hat, & ear plugs while on work floor. 

Hours: 

Yankton  - Monday thru Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm (40-hour work week)

Pay:  This is a non-exempt position paid weekly on Fridays.  Time worked in excess of 40 hours in a work-week is paid at time and one-half.
