Motor City Cruise – Stats Crew Job Description (2025-26 Season)

In this role, you will be inputting statistics using the NBA Global Stats System (NGSS) during Motor City Cruise (NBA G League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons) home games, located at the Wayne State Field House in Detroit, MI. Each game will include both a caller and an official scorer. However, if you are skilled in multiple areas, you may be asked to call or serve as the official scorekeeper based on crew needs.

This is a seasonal role for the upcoming 2025-26 NBA G League season. Most games begin at 7:00 p.m., with a few daytime tipoffs at either 11:00 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. On assigned workdays, crew members are expected to report 1.5 hours prior to tipoff to ensure the setup and systems are ready.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Inputting real-time game statistics using the NBA Global Stats System (NGSS) during Motor City Cruise home games.
• Working in a coordinated four-person stats crew to track and input game events using touch screen systems.
• Reviewing and validating game stats in collaboration with the official scorer to ensure accuracy before final submission.
• Attending a mandatory preseason training session to prepare for the upcoming season and learn the NGSS platform.

What We Are Looking For:

• Individuals with strong availability who can commit to working most, if not all, of the ~24 home games throughout the season.
• Candidates who are serious about the role, eager to learn, and able to focus in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
• Prior experience with game statistics is preferred — especially those who have done stats for a college team, club, or organization.
• Strong communication skills, team-player mentality, and a consistently positive, professional attitude.
• Familiarity with basketball stats and terminology is highly encouraged but not strictly required.
• Top performers may have the opportunity to be recommended for a Pistons home game assignment if there is a need during the season.
