Musculoskeletal and Orthopedics APP Fellow

About this role: 

The Musculoskeletal/Orthopedic APP Fellowship is a comprehensive 12-month program designed to immerse fellows in a dynamic clinical environment while providing hands-on experience across a broad spectrum of musculoskeletal specialties. Throughout their fellowship year, fellows will engage in daily patient encounters, interdisciplinary collaboration, and structured specialty rotations, allowing them to develop clinical and procedural skills. Fellows will benefit from guidance and mentorship by experienced clinicians, exposure to broad patient populations, and research or QI initiatives. The potential to specialize in specific body regions may be considered. While the fellowship provides broad exposure across musculoskeletal subspecialties, it is intentionally designed for APPs who are seeking focused, immersive training in orthopedic and musculoskeletal medicine early in their careers. 

The MSK/Ortho Fellowship is a three-year commitment limited to Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants who have graduated from an accredited school within the 12 months prior to the start date or have less than nine months working experience as an APP prior to the start date. The three years is structured with a one-year fellowship and two years post-graduation as a full, independent provider within the same specialty. The three-year commitment must be completed in the greater St. George area. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. 

This fellowship is ideal for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants who can express how musculoskeletal and orthopedic medicine aligns with their long‑term professional goals. Our Fellowship application process consists of three components, and all three must be completed by Monday, March 2, at 6:00 PM Mountain Time:

• Brief three-question video interview (scheduled after parts 1 and 2 are submitted)

What you’ll bring: 

• Must have a current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Utah AND have taken board examinations prior to start date (anticipated start date: July 6, 2026). 

• Certificate of completion from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program within the 12 months prior to start and be employed for no more than nine months as an APP prior to start. 

• Current Utah DEA certificate and Utah Pharmacy license  prior to start date (or in-process). 

• BLS certification  prior to start date (or in process).
