POSITION SUMMARY

Intern will engage in new product development activities such as literature recipe development, trial planning and execution, data analysis, and report writing. This position will support one or more active innovation, renovation projects, developing nutritional and wellness products covering gummies, chewable and powder formats.

Key Responsibilities:

• Literature search (internal and external data bases)


• Understand ingredient interactions & effectiveness at various usage levels


• Plan and execute trials at lab/bench and/or pilot plant scale. This may include design of experiments


• Collaborate with analytical lab and sensory team to assess impact of ingredients on final product


• Analyze data from lab and pilot trials and develop conclusions from trials


• Present findings and recommendations via presentations and project reports

Skills

• Good knowledge of food science principles and comfortable working with lab/bench scale experiments and prototype creation.


• A self-starter, result-oriented, analytical, innovative, intellectually curious and takes initiative.


• Ability to learn quickly, embrace change, and thrive in a fast-paced, environment.


• Excellent in communication (both written and verbal), collaborates well with others and excels in a team environment.


• Comfortable with basic data analysis in excel or other tools (tables, charts, etc) for presenting conclusions. 

Areas of Study/Majors

Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Food Science / Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and related fields
