Approximately 1/4th of Northrop Grumman\u2019s 100,000 employees self-identify as veterans, and more than 1,600 are reservists.\n\nThe Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. The NG-MIP program is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. The Northrop Grumman Military internship Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.\n\nResponsibilities for this internship position are: \n\nNorthrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman \u2013 Military Internship Program (DoD SkillBridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for SkillBridge. During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40 hours per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program. \n\nGoals \u2013 Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC. \n\nObjectives \\- Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly-trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission \u201cDefining Possible\u201d on Day 1. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.\n\nOutcome \u2013 Offer transitioning service member a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team.\n\nDoD SkillBridge Eligibility:\n\n * Has served at least 180 days on active duty.\n\n * Is within 12 months of separation or retirement.\n\n * Will receive an honorable discharge.\n\n * Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS.\n\n * Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months.\n\n * Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nJob Description:\n\nNorthrop Grumman is seeking a PC Tech to join our team in Palmdale, CA. Please note that the candidate selected for this position will be required to work on-site, full-time, at our Palmdale, CA campus.\n\nRoles and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:\n\n * Provide technical support for computers and associated networks.\n\n * Installs troubleshoot, service, and repair personal computers, network equipment such as servers, modems, multiplexers, related PC software, telephones, cables, and connectors.\n\n * Provide personal computer, hardware, and software support.\n\n * Install, service, and repair personal computers and install attendant software.\n\n * Connect personal computers and terminals to existing data networks.\n\n * Maintain network diagrams and circuit records.\n\n * Maintain trouble logs.\n\n * Instruct users in the use of personal computers and networks.\n\n * Investigate information, network, and communications needs of users, and make recommendations regarding software and hardware purchases.\n\n * Perform basic PC, PBX, and network software programming.\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications: \n\n * High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years relevant experience, or Associate\u2019s degree and 0 years of experience.\n\n * The selected candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance as a condition of continued employment.\n\n * The selected candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a special access programs (SAP) clearance as a condition of continued employment.\n\n * Current DoD 8570 IAT level II baseline certification (example: Security+ CE), or the ability to obtain certification within 3 months of start date; the required certification must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.\n\n * Experience with Microsoft products such as Windows Desktop OS, Office Product Suite\n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s of Science degree in relevant discipline.\n\n * Active DoD Secret security clearance.\n\n * CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification.\n\n * Current Microsoft certifications (MCP, MCSE or MCSA).\n\n * Proficiency in remote administration and troubleshooting of desktop PCs, Visio, and PowerShell.\n\n * Experience with zero and/or thin client devices.\n\n * Experience in Active Directory configuring user and computer accounts.\n\n * Cross-platform experience (i.e. two or more: Windows, Linux, Solaris, OSX, UNIX, etc.).\n\n * Experience supporting VMware VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure).\n\n * Knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory administration, and LAN/WAN networking.\n\n * Ability to work in a fast paced environment where multiple projects are being developed and deployed simultaneously.\n\n\n\n\n#MPR\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $51,400.00 - $85,600.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
