Nurse Practitioner Preceptorship Fall 2026

Horizon is currently looking for preceptor students for the Fall 2026 Semester!

Want to know more? Let’s talk about the technicalities! Direct experience opportunities may include, but are not limited to:

• Observe and assist initial psychiatric examinations for individuals admitted to mental health, rehabilitation and recovery programs and provide follow up medication management services


• Observe and participate in clinical case conference and case reviews while working with a multidisciplinary team to provide care to patients


• Assist with treatment planning and the prescribing of psychotropic and/or addiction medication


• Demonstrate clinical knowledge, communication and collaboration

Do you have what it takes?

Current enrollment in a NP (Nurse Practitioner) program is required. You will not be eligible if you have already completed your program or if you are not enrolled in the program. This internship experience must also be a requirement of your degree in order to participate, as it is unpaid and for school credit hours only.

Location Information:

Horizon internships are offered at various locations, with placements determined based on availability. As part of your application, you’ll have the opportunity to indicate your preferred locations. Since spaces are limited, we encourage you to apply promptly to maximize your chances of placement.

Schedule Information:

Our internship supervisors provide a flexible schedule for interns. However, please note that their availability is currently limited to Monday through Friday, with no weekend options at this time.

This internship is for Fall 2026 with a start date in August 2026.
