2026 Summer Internship | City Relief

Launch your leadership journey this summer with the 2026 Summer Internship at City Relief. This paid internship ($3,000 stipend) runs from June 1 through August 21, 2026, and requires a commitment of 24 hours per week.

Designed for students and emerging professionals who are passionate about service, this immersive experience provides meaningful, hands-on responsibility — not just observation. Interns develop practical skills in leadership, communication, teamwork, and mission-driven execution.

In addition to field experience, interns participate in structured mentorship and learning sessions that deepen their understanding of trauma-informed care, systemic poverty, and compassionate leadership. This is more than a summer role — it’s an opportunity to grow professionally, strengthen your character, and make a tangible difference in the lives of others.

NYC Outreach Intern

The NYC Outreach Intern will assist the Outreach Team in serving individuals experiencing homelessness throughout New York City. This intern will regularly join outreach trips, supporting frontline efforts that prioritize dignity, hospitality, and relational engagement.

Responsibilities include assisting with food and beverage preparation, organizing outreach supplies, supporting vehicle preparation and breakdown, and helping ensure outreach events are executed smoothly and efficiently. The intern will also assist with warehouse organization and inventory tasks as needed to maintain readiness for ongoing outreach initiatives.

Throughout the internship, the intern will gain hands-on exposure to urban outreach operations, direct service environments, and faith-based nonprofit programming. In addition to field experience, the intern will receive ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities designed to strengthen leadership skills, spiritual formation, and practical service capacity.
