The NC Department of Administration is the business manager for North Carolina state government. The department oversees Government Operations such as building construction, purchasing and contracting for goods and services, maintaining facilities, managing state vehicles, acquiring and disposing of real property, and operating auxiliary services such as courier mail delivery and the sale of state and federal surplus property. Additionally, the department manages many of the state's advocacy programs that provide assistance and services to diverse segments of the state's population that have been traditionally underserved.

Agency: Office of the Governor
Division: Operations
Job Duties: Support the operations team with internal logistics, the Governor’s movements, and cross-agency communication.
Major Task to be Performed: Responding to scheduling requests, preparing briefing memos, coordinating travel, welcoming guests and staffing events.
Final Product or Outcome Anticipated: Multiple products including, but not limited to, memos and research documents, and correspondence documents, hands-on experience managing the Governor’s schedule, and aiding with Mansion events.
Academic Majors Desired: Public policy, political science, government, public administration, and will consider related fields.
2026 State of North Carolina Internship Period: Monday, May 18 – Friday, July 24, 2026
Professionalism; strong analytical, writing, and communication skills; ability to multitask while maintaining strong attentions to detail; ability to work independently; Excellent organizational skills, administrative skills desired.
This position will close at 11:59 p.m. the night before the end date.
