IFS SUPPORT/ IFS SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION

POSITION SUMMARY:


This position is responsible for the day-to-day administrative tasks associated with the Investigations and Forensic Science (IFS) Systems Administration Unit (SAU). This position reports to the Info Tech Business Consultant Manager and is responsible for providing systems administration tasks including removing obsolete users, resetting passwords, lower lever technical support, and auditing.


 


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Specific duties include:



  • Completing the assignments within established time frames unless the section supervisor, due to extenuating circumstances, grants prior approval;

  • Maintaining working knowledge and processes associated with the operation of the IFS Program;

  • Completing staff work with minimal spelling and grammatical errors and is complete, factual, and well written, requiring minimal editing by the section supervisor;

  • Coordinating the removal or addition of FDLE and/or external users to ensure proper administration and support for assigned system(s);

  • Resetting passwords and aids in ensuring user access to section systems;

  • Performing periodic assessments of assigned system(s) to ensure only active and current FDLE members have access;

  • Serving as a backup user assistance for section system(s);

  • Maintaining working knowledge and processes associated with the operation of the IFS Program; and 

  • Demonstrating strong attention to detail by accurately reviewing, organizing, and completing assigned tasks in accordance with established procedures.


 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis;

  • Proficiency in the use of, and business practices associated with FDLE’s automated Investigative, Intelligence or Forensic systems;

  • Skills to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;

  • Knowledge of research and analysis techniques;

  • Ability to think analytically;

  • Ability to solve problems independently and make decisions with guidance;

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; and 

  • Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to operational and management analysis activities.

BASE SALARY:


$ 17.92/hour

Starting hourly salary will be the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE’s pay policy. FDLE is a State of Florida Employer and offers a comprehensive OPS benefits package (ONLY available to OPS members who will be working 30 or more hours a week), including:

BACKGROUND:


FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. The elements of a background include: financial credit check, criminal history of applicant and applicant’s immediate family or roommates, personal references, employment and education verifications (which includes official transcript(s)), drug screen and fingerprinting.  This information will be utilized to make the final hiring decision.


 


NOTES:


Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed at least six months of the probationary period for their current position.
