Job Description - Outreach Resident

Outreach Resident


Reports To: Executive Pastor 



Job Overview: The Outreach Resident will support Hill City Church’s objectives through the embodiment of the mission statement: Together we love God, love others and make disciples of Jesus Christ. As a resident, you will gain experience in various ministry areas, including Hill City Global initiatives, overseeing efforts to reach international college students, planning mission trips, coordinating For the City initiatives, and resourcing the Church body as they serve the city and world. This resident position will also assist in training, equipping, and sending members of Hill City Church into our community and world to share the gospel.



Responsibilities: 



Hill City Global



  • Lead efforts in reaching international students on local university campuses


    • Partner with Salt Company to align on vision and develop engagement strategies.

    • Coordinate and lead semester-start outreach efforts and manage volunteer teams.

    • Build pathways for international students to hear the gospel and connect with Salt Company.

    • Collaborate with the mobilization team on local outreach.






  • Assist in Hill City Global mission trip planning as designated by executive team

    • Oversee mission trip recruiting, interviewing, training, coordination, and execution

    • Partner with mission trip leaders to train and develop new leaders

    • Work alongside the Communications Team to facilitate communication pathways within the ministry (facebook, email, instagram, etc.)

    • Maintain a culture of learning and excellence in trips from Hill City Church to partners

    • Lead HCG mission trips as needed






  • Support Hill City Global partners

    • Support HCG long-term missionary processes.Process orders (books, materials, personal shopping) for church partners as needed.

    • Facilitate a dedicated prayer group for partners and ministry.






  • Support Hill City Global ministry and teams


    • Maintain team unity through regular check-ins with HCG team leaders

    • Manage the HCG budget & event planning

    • Maintain HCG organization platforms (managed missions, trello, etc.)

    • Serve as the main point of contact with the HCG Deacon

    • Oversee HCG Intern(s)

    • Collaborate with mobilization team to cast global vision and develop global leaders




 


Resident Requirements: 



  • Create and complete personalized development plan

  • Semi-annual evaluation of 6-month plan

  • Training, organizational development, and processes required of all staff & residents




Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • Track record in serving through the local church

  • Organized, self-driver who is able to take general direction and produce results

  • Passion for serving the city and the world



Hill City's Residency Program Mission & Vision: 


Hill City’s Residency Program exists to train, equip and send leaders to serve the Church.



The hope for Hill City’s Residency Program is that adults who desire to explore vocational ministry will get the opportunity to do so within the local church. After their time in the Residency Program, residents will be better equipped to serve the Church - whether vocationally or through serving as a high capacity leader. The Residency Program will help each individual better understand what they are called to do and how God has gifted them for ministry. As they are sent out of the Residency Program, residents will have a clear vision of where they are going and will be equipped to be effective leaders in the Church for generations to come.
