KCH Transportation is seeking a motivated Operations Intern in multiple locations (Chattanooga, TN + Brentwood, TN) to join our high-performing team and gain hands-on experience in carrier procurement, transportation coordination, and real-time logistics operations.

As an Operations Intern, you'll play a key role in supporting our carrier network, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of freight, and helping drive operational excellence. This is an excellent opportunity to develop industry-specific skills, work alongside experienced professionals, and contribute to the success of a rapidly growing third-party logistics provider.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Assist in identifying, sourcing, and onboarding new carrier partners to strengthen and diversify our carrier network.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date carrier information and documentation to ensure compliance and efficiency.

• Support carrier relationship management by helping coordinate communication, address inquiries, and monitor performance.

• Track active shipments, assist with updates to customers and carriers, and ensure timely delivery through proactive communication.

• Collaborate with the operations team to maximize carrier utilization, minimize transit times, and enhance service levels.

• Analyze key carrier and lane data to identify trends and recommend improvements to operations and cost-saving opportunities.

• Learn and utilize our Transportation Management System (TMS) to manage carrier assignments, shipment tracking, and internal workflows.

• Contribute to problem resolution efforts related to delays, service failures, and compliance concerns.
