Part Time Daycare Director ( After school Program )

Summary: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Part-Time Daycare Director to lead and manage a small but growing child care program with a focus on after-school enrichment and the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate professional who enjoys building programs that support children and families while maximizing revenue through state-supported initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Oversee the day to day operations of EDJ Child Enrichment Center
2. Hire and train new staff members
3. Supervise childcare workers and volunteers
4. Develop relationships with parents, children and co-workers
5. Evaluate and approve equipment and supplies for the facility
6. Establish policies and communicate them to staff and parents
7. Provide training and professional development opportunities for staff
8. Develop educational programs and set educational standards
9. Help staff resolve conflicts between children
10. Assist staff in communicating with parents
11. Meet with parents and staff to discuss students’ progress
12. Establish budgets and set fees for programs
13. Ensure facilities are maintained and cleaned according to state regulation

USDA Food Program (CACFP):

• Administer and maintain compliance with the USDA feeding program.
• Ensure accurate meal counts, menus, and record-keeping in accordance with CACFP guidelines.
• Oversee kitchen/meal service operations; ensure food safety standards are met.

Administrative Duties:

• Ensure staff meet all regulatory and training requirements.
• Maintain children’s records, incident reports, and attendance logs.
• Conduct regular safety checks and uphold sanitation standards.
• Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and licensing representatives.

Requirements

Qualifications Requirements:

• Must be knowledgeable of supervisory skills
• Must demonstrate strong leadership skills
• Must be knowledgeable of office management systems and procedures
• Must maintain good customer service
• Must be proficient in basic computer skills (including Microsoft Office Suite, keyboarding, email and internet use)
• Must have strong communication skills (oral and written)
• Must have strong time management skills
• Must have strong organizational skills
• Must have strong interpersonal skills
• Serve Safe Certification (required or must obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Experience with CACFP preferred, but training available.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development from a regionally accredited college or university OR one of the following:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a non-related field plus one (1) of the following:
• 4 years of experience in early childhood education
• CDA
• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education plus 6 years’ experience in Early Childhood Education
• 8 years’ experience in Early Childhood Education plus CDA, Birth – Pre-K credentials, and Technical Certificate of Early Childhood Education
• Experience in state or federal food service programs (USDA, CACFP).
