RIGHT NOW.\n\nJohn Deere is an equal opportunity employer, including disabled \u0026 veterans. \n\nPrimary Location: United States (US) - Illinois - Silvis, IL \nFunction: Product Engineering (CA) \nTitle: Part-Time Student - Soil and Crop Systems - Silvis, IL - 119846 \nOnsite/Remote:Onsite Position\n\nNote: Relocation assistance is not provided.\n\nThe Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company\u2019s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.\n\n## Your Responsibilities\n\nAs a Part-time Student for Soil and Crop Systems team located in Silvis, IL you will:\n\n * Collaborate with SCS, product design and PV\u0026V engineering teams to deliver DEM (EDEM software) and CFD (StarCCM) simulations to aid in design and testing decisions\n * Use CAD tools to develop new simulations and design test stands for improving correlation.\n * Visit local field sites to collect crop material for evaluation\n * Run tests in field and lab setting\n * Organize and analyze lab and simulation data\n * Responsible for communicating and maintaining good documentation. \n\n\n\nThis position NOT available to students on immigration visas\n\n## What Skills You Need\n\n * Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in a STEM field: Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Physics or similar. Others may apply.\n * Must be registered as a full-time student at an accredited college/university.\n * Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.\n * Available to work during the academic year 16-20 hours/weekly.\n * Available to work during the summer 30-40 hours/weekly.\n * Independent learner and problem solver.\n * Graduation date of Spring 2027 or later\n * Programming skills and experience with data analysis.\n * High School Graduate\n * Must be able to commute to the work location in Silvis on a daily basis, year-round \n\n\n\n## What Makes You Standout\n\n * Programming skills in Python or C++.\n * Course work and interest in physics, dynamic, and fluid dynamics\n * Experience with 3D modeling software (Creo preferred)\n * Strong people, relationship-building, and communication skills. \n * Ability to develop productive working relationships with a wide variety of teams and leaders \n\n\n\nAt John Deere, you are empowered to create a career that will take you to where you want to go while working in an inclusive team environment.
