Prevention Intern

The Seaway Valley Prevention Council seeks a motivated and self-driven individual to fill the role of a Prevention Intern under a Paid Prevention Internship Opportunity (PPIO) under the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS).

The Prevention Intern will work alongside Health Educators in the agency to provide evidence-based prevention education programs in the community and in school districts across St. Lawrence County. Duties include facilitating youth programming, designing social media graphics, and participating in community events.

The Prevention Intern must also complete a series of professional development training opportunities to work towards their NYS Credentialled Prevention Professional (CPP) certification.

Ideal candidates must be comfortable with public speaking, enjoy creativity, and be team players.

The position involves local travel with mileage reimbursement. Some evening and weekend hours are required to accommodate community events. 

The minimum requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent.
