Job Description - Product Operations Intern

Job Description:

The Product Operations Intern will support Flexential’s Cloud & Data Protection Product Management team during an 8-week summer internship by completing tactical, high-value work that improves product team execution. This role is designed for a student who is interested in how products are planned, documented, launched, and measured. The intern will have exposure to multiple facets of the Product Management practice including but not limited to helping organize product information, improving team processes, conducting targeted research, and turning data into actionable insights that support product managers and cross-functional partners. Assignments will be scoped to be achievable within the internship period and may include dashboard updates, data review and analysis, competitive research, release readiness support, and analysis that helps the team make faster, better-informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist with analysis, organization, and recommendations for action of existing customer subscriptions where recoup of unbilled revenue may be possible
  • Audit existing product documentation for completeness, consistency, and version accuracy, then assist with the normalization and consolidation into centrally located knowledge base articles
  • Review key vendor partner program participation requirements, status, and renewal timelines, and establish a centralized tracker to ensure Flexential’s ongoing adherence
  • Maintain and improve product team operating materials such as trackers, templates, meeting notes, release checklists, and shared product documentation.
  • Conduct targeted market, competitor, or customer-adjacent research and summarize findings into concise readouts that support product positioning, prioritization, or enablement decisions.
  • Pull and organize product performance, pricing, or adoption data from existing sources and build simple reports or dashboards in Excel or similar tools.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, information systems, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarize information clearly for different audiences.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks with guidance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Interest in product management, product operations, cloud services, or technology-enabled business processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior internship, project, or campus leadership experience involving analysis, operations, research, or cross-functional collaboration.
  • Exposure to SaaS, cloud infrastructure, data protection, or B2B technology concepts.
  • Experience creating presentations, dashboards, process maps, or written recommendations.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position is primarily office-based and may be performed in a hybrid or remote environment.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while working on a computer, participating in meetings, and reviewing documents.
  • Ability to occasionally move and transport light materials such as a laptop, notebook, or training materials.
