Job Description - Production and Tech Work Study

Description
The Department of Performing arts is looking for a Scenic Shop Student Aide who will work in the Scenic shop as carpenters for the build, load-in, tech, and strike of all Productions and report directly to the Scene Shop Supervisor.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

Knowledge of terminology and/or coursework in the Technical Theatre

Must be able to lift 20 pounds

Must have had experience in Theatrical set construction

Must have experience using stationary power tools such as table saw, band saw, radial arm saw and drill press

Must have had experience using power hand tools such as screw guns, circular saws and jig saws

Must be able to conform to the Scene Shop Dress Code

Must be able to climb ladders and work in high places

Must be able to work in an environment which contains dust from cut lumber

Must have completed Stagecraft I, Stagecraft II, or equivalent

Other Duties as assigned

Ability to work under strict deadlines.

Ability to work independently.

Must be able to lift 20-30 pounds, exert physical effort, climb ladder

Must be able to work Monday-Friday from 2pm-5pm

Some evenings and weekends will also be required
