JOB PURPOSE:
The Programs Intern will support the Program Resource Manager and Director of Government Programs with program development, implementation, and evaluation. This internship provides hands-on experience in executing and assessing Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin programs while offering opportunities for professional growth and learning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct community outreach to low-income seniors in Calumet, Oconto, and Winnebago counties.
Assist with the distribution and management of senior farmers' market vouchers in compliance with program guidelines.
Support the execution and evaluation of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin programs, including the Tribal Elder Box Program, The Monthlies Project, Tausch’s Cooking Camp, and others as assigned.
Assist with program logistics such as inventory tracking, weighing, and organizing incoming products, as well as program setup and takedown.
Collect testimonials and impact stories from program participants.
Track and report key program metrics to measure program effectiveness.
Perform data entry and maintain program records.
Communicate with program partners and stakeholders to coordinate outreach and engagement.
INTERNSHIP STRUCTURE:
The intern will split time between supporting the Program Resource Manager (approx. 2 days/week) and Government Programs (approx. 2 days/week), with one flexible "float" day as needed for a total of 35-40 hours a week.
This internship is structured to provide a learning experience and professional development in program coordination, community engagement, and nonprofit operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Customer service or community outreach experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursement available for work-related travel).
Must pass a background check due to handling program vouchers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed in an office, warehouse, and community setting. Noise levels may vary.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This is a paid internship (hourly rate: $18.00/hour).
The internship will run from May 15th to September 30th, with flexible scheduling based on academic commitments.
Interns will receive mentorship and professional development opportunities as part of their experience.
