Job Description - Receptionist Intern

Position Overview


HeartCry Missionary Society is seeking a Receptionist Intern to serve as the front reception point of contact for the office, supporting the maintenance of a well-organized, hospitable, and productive environment for staff and visitors. This role manages the front reception desk and handles central supportive administrative duties to maintain smooth daily office functioning.



The internship duration is for the summer quarter, from April to June. Hours per week can range from 20-40 hours.


 


This position combines administrative diligence with ministry support. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn office systems and accounting fundamentals, and genuinely motivated to contribute to the organization's mission through reliable, hospitable front-desk service and attentive administrative assistance.



Key Responsibilities


Reception



  • Manage the front reception area by welcoming visitors, receiving deliveries, and serving as a central point of coordinating staff requests and office inquiries.

  • Maintain a professional, accessible presence at the reception desk to ensure visibility and responsiveness to office-related needs.


 


Office Operations



  • Assist in day-to-day office administrative processes, including ordering, collecting and maintaining inventory of office and kitchen supplies.

  • Support the Office Manager with general office-related administrative tasks.

  • Assist in handling of incoming and outgoing non-donor related mail, deliveries and logistics.


 


Event Management



  • Support the Office Manager in hospitality and coordination for in-office events and guests (e.g., food, seating, cleanliness, and materials).


 


Accounting Assistance



  • Assist the Controller with accounting tasks and administration (data entry, invoice processing, filing, etc.).

  • Clear theological alignment with HeartCry’s doctrinal convictions, including substantial agreement with the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith.

  • Strong attention to detail and consistency in follow-through.

  • Welcoming and engaging communication skills.

  • Friendliness, conscientiousness, and responsiveness.



Helpful Experience



  • Previous volunteer or part-time work experience is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
