Recreation Aides + Leaders (14+) (2026)

General position at the pools, water parks and camps that perform a variety of task as assigned by the Director or his Assistant. 

Responsibilities: 

1. Complies with regulations as required by local health code. 

2. Assists in the implementation of various programs and activities. 

3. Maintains accurate daily records as well as sustain sanitary conditions in and around the pool, locker rooms, shower and toilet areas. 

4. Performs related work as required.   

Minimum Entrance Qualifications: 

1. Knowledge of pool health and safety standards preferred. 

2. Ability to work flexible hours. 

3. Applicants must be at least 14 years of age. 

4. Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the position. 

Providence residency is required.   

Seasonal Position - BCI check required for 18+ applicant 

Start:  early July 2026

End:   end of August 2026

Providence Department of Parks and Recreation will hire Providence youth this summer to operate lunch program sites, camps, pools and water parks across the city.  All summer employment candidates must be at least 14 years old as of July 1, 2026, and must have applied online.
