Job Description - Recruiting Intern

New Home Star is the largest privately owned seller of new homes in America. As part of our Human Resources team, you’ll support both our Corporate Support Office and our home builder partners—helping them sell more homes, more profitably.

We’re hiring a Recruiting Intern to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for someone eager to begin or grow a career in recruiting. You’ll play a critical behind-the-scenes role by supporting key administrative and recruiting-related functions—and you'll be joining at a time of exciting transformation in our recruiting infrastructure.

This internship is a 6-month opportunity designed to provide meaningful experience and exposure to the world of recruiting. While there is potential for the role to grow into a longer-term position or transition into a different area within our team, any continuation beyond the initial period will depend on evolving business needs and capacity at that time.

💼 What You’ll Do

  • Support recruiters with scheduling interviews and coordinating candidate communication
  • Review resumes and assist with candidate outreach
  • Maintain accurate records and data entry within our Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues
  • Audit candidate data and help ensure process consistency across the team
  • Update team resources, templates, and internal documentation
  • Collaborate with recruiters on special projects and ongoing process improvements
  • Take on general administrative tasks that contribute to the success of the recruiting function

🎯 What We’re Looking For

  • Clear, confident communicator with strong organizational skills
  • A lover of details—takes pride in keeping things tidy, accurate, and on track (you’ll be the go-to for clean data and organized systems!)
  • Someone who takes initiative—happy to jump in, offer support, and look for ways to help as they grow into the role
  • Comfortable juggling multiple tasks while following through thoroughly on every detail
  • Eager to learn new technologies and tools (like ATS platforms, LinkedIn Recruiter, and more)
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources or a related field (preferred, not required)
  • Able to work in-person at our Elmhurst, IL office
