Job Description - Regulatory Affairs Internship

About the Role:


Gain practical experience in regulatory intelligence, product compliance, and operational innovation at Swanson Health Products. This role offers direct exposure to the regulatory frameworks that govern how health and wellness products are developed, labeled, and brought to market domestically and internationally.



 Essential Responsibilities:



  1. Assist in conducting regulatory landscape assessments across FDA, FTC, NAD, and state-level initiatives, including NDI notifications and GRAS determinations, and support preparation of internal compliance summaries.

  2. Track product attribute changes and identify opportunities to enhance product listings with relevant third-party certifications and quality standards to optimize partner brand visibility and market positioning.

  3. Support specialty product certification processes by gathering, reviewing, and organizing supplier documentation for non-GMO, vegan, gluten-free, Kosher, and Halal certifications, gaining hands-on experience with the full certification lifecycle including applications and renewals.

  4. Research and evaluate AI-powered tools and automation technologies to streamline regulatory workflows, reduce manual documentation burden, and improve team efficiency.

  5. Support label and claims review ensuring alignment with FDA, FTC and international requirements under the guidance of the regulatory team.

  6. Support documentation review processes related to product commercialization, including territorial and legal compliance records.

  7. Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.

  8. Conducts self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of SHP.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


Current enrollment in or recent completion of an undergraduate program in a science-based field, preferably food science, nutrition, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience, though more is preferred Or; an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential responsibilities listed above.
