POSITION SUMMARY

The Intelligence and Investigations intern is responsible for supporting ongoing social media monitoring and incident response efforts in partnership with Foresight’s security, intelligence, and investigations teams. Additionally, the Intelligence and Investigations intern is responsible for producing a final product that aligns with their career interests and relates to Foresight’s services. Interns must be adaptable, curious, and motivated students. This position is open for full-time hours and will end after three months. Interns must fulfill the requirements associated with their university’s internship program to obtain college credit.

Interns will gain exposure and experience related to open-source intelligence (OSINT), social media intelligence (SOCMINT), incident response, global security, and threat assessment. Through their final products, students will have the opportunity to apply these skills to their desired career paths under the guidance of security, threat assessment, and intelligence professionals.

JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Collect, research, and review open-source communications to identify potential threats to clients.


2. Evaluate threatening and concerning communications to assess risks to clients and when needed, promptly escalating findings to managers.


3. Monitor and review accounts belonging to persons of concern and identify potential threats to clients’ executive leadership, employees, properties, and organization.


4. Actively monitor events (natural disasters, developing situations, civil unrest, etc.) on a global basis and disseminate information as needed.


5. Consistently seek learning opportunities and communicate with managers regarding areas for growth.


6. Regularly attend threat assessment and intelligence team meetings.


7. Conduct a research project aligned that aligns with career interests, current studies, and Foresight’s services. Interns will work with their advisors to establish timelines for draft and final product due date.


8. Comply with all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards when conducting and reporting research findings.


9. Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information as outlined by Foresight policies and legal requirements.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

1. Current undergraduate or graduate student in forensic psychology, criminal justice, intelligence studies, security, or other related fields.


2. Strong critical thinking, research, and analytical skills.


3. Shows discretion and demonstrates good judgement.


4. Ability to take initiative, multitask, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.


5. Ability to intake, assess, and analyze large quantities of information.


6. Basic knowledge of OSINT, security operations, and threat assessment or willingness to learn.


7. Must be willing to sign formal Non-Disclosure Agreement and pass a comprehensive background check.


8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Teams


9. Access to reliable internet that allows for video calls
