Intern Electro-Mechanical - Supply Shipping/Receiving Clerk

This student internship is being offered as a part of EO's Ignite Internships program and is for high school students only who are 18 years or older. This internship is offered in partnership with Electro-Mechanical. Students will be employed by Electro-Mechanical and all hiring decisions will be made by Electro-Mechanical personnel. Electro-Mechanical has provided the following job description for this internship: 

PURPOSE OF JOB: To prepare records of shipments and of receipt of incoming material and verify accuracy of shipping documents and receipts with open orders. 

UNUSUAL ENVIRONMENT FACTORS: Normal manufacturing environment with some dust and noise. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS TO ACCOMPLISH CENTRAL PURPOSE: 

• Comprehend and follow shop procedures, standard practice instructions, prints, diagrams and other written and verbal instructions. 

• Manipulate apparatus and components to required workstations, equipment, stations and positions. 

• Able to use hand tools, air tools, and tow motors (both driven and stand-up models). 

• Perform activities related to shipping and receiving and complete the necessary data 

• entry into the computer system. 

• Identify and confirm parts/receipts. 

• Inspect and package material per company standards. 

• Comprehend and observe all safety and quality standards and participate in Kaizan and Area Focus Teams. 

• Using manual tools, occasional solvents, and cleaning supplies to maintain a clean and orderly work area. 

• To maintain regular and timely attendance, to work in an efficient manner, and to work overtime when required, all sufficiently to support the continuous manufacturing process  

• Work close concerts with, and get along with, co-workers.  

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Assist with special work assignments as assigned by the Area Manager or designee with appropriate instruction and supervision provided.  

• Able to cross train other associates in his/her job duties.
