Intern-DCPS-Summer Technology Assistant

This student internship is being offered as a part of EO's Ignite Internships program and is for high school students only.

This internship is offered in partnership with the Dickenson County Public Schools and is open to DCPS students only.

Students will be employed by DCPS and all hiring decisions will be made by DCPS personnel. DCPS has provided the

following job description for this internship:

• Perform tasks to assist install, replace, and upgrade technology equipment


• Ability to follow simple directions and read basic operating instructions


• Ability to work as a team and follow the directions of immediate supervisor


• Good communication skills


• Knowledge of the operation of a computer and general computer maintenance equipment

Performance Responsibilities:

• To assist Technology Department staff in the installation of software, computer repair, installation of printers,


• wireless routers, and any other peripheral equipment along with the installation of networks and their repair


• To provide technical support and assistance for all personnel


• To maintain a technological environment within the division that is conducive to learning


• To assist in the management of the entire Wide Area network


• To report immediately any damage to school property


• To remain on premises during school hours or school activity hours


• To perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
