Job Description - Social Media Intern

Employee Status: Temporary, Unpaid (10–15 hours per week)

Location: Remote

About Us

Mamaya Health is a specialized women’s mental health company— and we are looking for passionate individuals to help us bring this mission to life. We are the mental health platform built for every season of a woman’s life: pregnancy, postpartum, fertility, perimenopause, menopause, and beyond. Our clinicians, therapy services, medication management, and evidence-based programs are designed to meet women exactly where they are.

Mamaya Health exists for one reason: women deserve mental health care that actually understands them. We specialize in the moments most systems overlook — postpartum, perimenopause, fertility, and everything in between — and we accept most major insurances so that access isn't the barrier. We're growing quickly, building new programs, and looking for people who want their work to mean something.

Our mission is to provide women with the specialized mental health care they deserve at every stage of life — from menstruation through menopause.

Internship Period: July 1, 2026 – December 1, 2026

Position Overview

You’ll be the heartbeat of Mamaya Health’s social media presence during our nationwide brand launch. As our Social Media Coordinator Intern, you’ll help build community, grow our following, and ensure every post reflects the warmth, expertise, and mission of our brand. This is your chance to be part of a landmark women’s mental health launch — and to own a real, audience-facing role from day one. You’ll work in close collaboration with our Graphic Design Intern and Content & Communications Intern to ensure content is visually compelling, on-brand, and published with intention.

Your Impact Metric (KPI)

You measure your impact by the engagement rate and audience growth across our social channels, as well as the on-time delivery and consistency of the monthly content calendar — all of which directly supports completed client sessions and our company’s overall growth goals.

Who You Are

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.

  • Active and knowledgeable on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook — you understand what performs well on each platform.

  • A natural storyteller who can communicate with warmth, clarity, and a voice that resonates with women.

  • Organized and proactive — you can plan a month of content in advance and keep production on track.

  • Collaborative and communicative — you thrive when working with a graphic designer and a comms lead to bring ideas together.

  • Passionate about women’s mental health and excited to help de-stigmatize it through storytelling.

  • Approach your work with creativity, kindness, and a growth mindset.

Job Duties + Functions

  • Plan and build Mamaya’s monthly social media content calendar across LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, and submit it to the Content & Communications Intern for brand review before scheduling.

  • Write captions, schedule posts, and manage audience engagement — responding to comments and messages in alignment with Mamaya’s brand voice.

  • Collaborate with the Graphic Design Intern to request, brief, and coordinate visual assets for each post.

  • Monitor post performance weekly and share insights on engagement, reach, and follower growth with the team.

  • Support social content planning around Mamaya’s July 1 nationwide launch and ongoing campaigns.

  • Stay current on women’s health, mental health, and social media trends to keep content timely and relevant.

  • Assist in growing and engaging our online community in a way that reflects Mamaya’s mission and values.
