Retail Associate

What You'll Do 

• Ensure all customers are warmly greeted, have their needs assessed, and are referred to the appropriate area. 

• Provide customer friendly service experience for customers with questions or issues related to health care, health insurance (benefits, claims, premium payments, membership, billing, and enrollment) or other related topics. 

• Use web-based tools and other aids to facilitate and teach customers to use resources, tools, information, and products to manage their health care and health care costs more effectively.

• Provide support for special events (e.g., seminars, appearances, proactive contacts with customers) and projects for the public in the center and/or at other local sites. 

• Ensure customers understand their products, benefits, tools, and how to use them. 

• Assist with Call Campaigns if the demand is needed to ensure touchpoints are met for initiatives set by our segment partners

• Provide support to Non-Profit organizations during activities/events held in the Beyond Blue Neighborhood Center. 

• Participate in the coordination and implementation of volunteer events within the community. 

• Contribute to operations-related projects, including program development, implementation, and tracking, based on interest, availability, and organizational needs. 

What You Bring 

• Full-time student who is a rising junior or senior attending App State 

• Willing and available to work at least 10 hours per week for two semesters (maximum of 12-15 hours) 

• Must commit to 1 week of training prior to starting (this will be scheduled during the summer and advance notice will be given).

• Must be able to work in our Boone Beyond Blue Neighborhood Center

• Prior experience or desire to work with Non-Profits/community related endeavors

• Desire to learn about healthcare 

• Prior experience in a customer service-based position
