Location: Gastonia, NC (Main Office)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (flexible combination of remote and on-site work)
Hours: Up to 30 hours per week
Internship Term: Spring 2027 (January through May/June 2027) with potential extension through Summer 2027 based on performance

Are you interested in using data, market research, and business strategy to help grow a global brand? Join Sakesh Shetty's team at MANN+HUMMEL and gain hands-on experience working on a strategic growth initiative for the MANN-FILTER brand in North America.

As a Sales & Business Development Intern, you will work alongside Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Category Management professionals to help develop a data-driven Go-to-Market strategy. You'll analyze market trends, evaluate competitors, identify growth opportunities, and contribute recommendations that can directly influence business decisions.

This internship provides meaningful exposure to commercial strategy, market intelligence, business analytics, and cross-functional collaboration in a global manufacturing organization.

What You'll Be Working On

• Support the development of a Go-to-Market strategy for MANN-FILTER products in North America.


• Conduct market research to identify industry trends, customer needs, and growth opportunities.


• Analyze sales, customer, and market data to uncover actionable business insights.


• Assess the competitive landscape and benchmark industry competitors.


• Assist with customer segmentation and target market analysis.


• Help identify product portfolio gaps and opportunities for new product introductions.  


• Collaborate with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Supply Chain, and Category Management teams.


• Develop presentations, dashboards, summaries, and recommendations for leadership reviews.


• Participate in strategic planning discussions and cross-functional meetings.


• Present project findings and recommendations to business leaders.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:




• Business Administration


• Marketing


• Economics


• Finance


• Industrial Engineering


• Mechanical Engineering


• Data Analytics


• Or a related field.




• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.


• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with market research, business analysis, or strategic projects through coursework, internships, or student organizations.


• Familiarity with the automotive, aftermarket, industrial, or manufacturing sectors.


• Experience using Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools


• Interest in commercial strategy, product management, sales analytics, or consulting careers.

By the end of the internship, you will have helped deliver a comprehensive Go-to-Market strategy that identifies growth opportunities and strategic recommendations to increase the market presence of MANN-FILTER in North America. You'll also gain practical experience presenting recommendations to business leaders and contributing to a project with visible impact on future business growth.
