ST is excited to welcome a Sales Engineering Intern at our Santa Clara, CA office. As a Sales Engineering Intern supporting the Global Key Accounts team, you will collaborate with a fast-paced, cross-functional group to help shape sales strategies for some of Silicon Valley’s largest customers. You will gain hands-on experience at the intersection of engineering, product analysis, and technical sales within the semiconductor industry.


YOUR ROLE 



  • Perform detailed product teardowns to identify Bills of Materials (BOMs), competitive components, and opportunities to increase ST content.

  • Analyze customer system architectures using your engineering skillset.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to Sales and FAE teams to guide sales strategy.

  • Propose alternative solutions leveraging ST’s broad product portfolio.

  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, FAEs, and Marketing to build customer-ready proposals.

  • Participate in customer meetings to see your work applied in real-world discussions.

  • Join staff meetings, customer ride-alongs, and other sales activities to learn the technical sales process.


WHAT YOU WILL GAIN



  • Practical experience combining engineering analysis with strategic sales planning.

  • Direct involvement with top-tier technology customers.

  • Gain exposure to both the technical and business domains of the semiconductor industry.

  • Insight into how semiconductor companies drive design-wins and influence customer product decisions.

  • Mentorship from experienced Sales, FAE, and Marketing professionals.

  • Experience in industry standard business and sales tools like SalesForce and PowerBI.


YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCES



  • Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related major. 

    • Having a Business minor or background will be helpful.


  • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills.

  • Strong executive functionalities – time management, project management skills.

  • Experience working on a team: Able to collaborate, while having a strong independent drive to deliver your objectives to the team.

  • Analytic skills – using data and trends to drive recommendations and strategy for our sales activities. 

  • Metrics Management – ability to implement standard practices to set and review metrics with the sales management team.

  • Familiarity with semiconductor products (knowledge on our ST product portfolio is a plus).

  • Flexibility and adaptability to succeed in a highly dynamic work environment.

  • Curiosity and a creative learning mindset to manage the ever changing opportunities customers will present to the sales teams.


At STMicroelectronics, base salary is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The base hourly rate range for this role is between $24 and $35 USD.
