Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

Before the Performance

  • Arrive for pre-show briefing and assignments.
  • Assist with lobby setup, programs, signage, and accessibility materials.
  • Welcome patrons as they arrive.
  • Scan or check tickets.
  • Direct guests to:
    • Restrooms
    • Concessions or bar service
    • Accessible seating
    • Their assigned seats
  • Answer basic questions about the theatre, performance, and facilities.
  • Monitor entrances and help manage lines.

During Seating

  • Escort patrons to seats.
  • Distribute programs.
  • Assist late arrivals according to house policies.
  • Help patrons with mobility needs.
  • Maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere.

During the Performance

  • Monitor audience behavior and safety.
  • Enforce house policies regarding:
    • Photography and recording
    • Food and beverages
    • Cell phone use
  • Watch exits and audience areas.
  • Assist patrons who need help or must leave the theatre.
  • Communicate issues to the House Manager.

Intermission

  • Direct traffic flow.
  • Assist with concessions and restrooms.
  • Help patrons return to seats promptly.
  • Answer questions and provide guest assistance.

After the Performance

  • Thank patrons for attending.
  • Assist with audience exit and crowd flow.
  • Collect programs if applicable.
  • Help reset the theatre and lobby for the next performance.

For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.
