About the Internship

CJ Pony Parts is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented SEO & Content Marketing Intern to join our SEM team for the Spring 2027 semester. This internship is exclusively available to currently enrolled Marketing students at James Madison University (JMU).

This role offers hands-on experience in Search Engine Optimization (SEO), content marketing, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), AI-powered content creation, keyword research, and digital marketing. Interns will work alongside experienced marketing professionals on projects that directly impact organic search performance, website content strategy, and customer engagement.

What You'll Do

As an SEO & Content Marketing Intern, you will:

• Learn and apply SEO best practices to content writing, editing, and research.


• Research AI search trends and support Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) initiatives on platforms such as ChatGPT and Google Gemini.


• Use AI-powered tools to assist with content creation, research, editing, and SEO optimization.


• Update existing website content with new product information and current model-year details.


• Create and refresh category descriptions and assist with original Resource Center articles.


• Conduct competitor research and content gap analyses.


• Identify opportunities to improve internal linking and backlink acquisition efforts.


• Monitor automotive industry news and share relevant updates with the team.


• Learn to use keyword research, analytics, and SEO tools to identify content improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

Required

• Currently enrolled at James Madison University


• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in marketing


• Strong writing, editing, and research skills


• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail


• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook


• Interest in digital marketing, SEO, content strategy, and emerging AI technologies

Preferred

• Familiarity with SEO fundamentals, keyword research, and content optimization


• Experience with blogging, academic writing, content creation, or digital marketing coursework


• Interest in the automotive industry and enthusiast communities

Compensation & Schedule

• $17.00 per hour
