NG-MIP is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.\n\nResponsibilities for this internship position are:\n\nNorthrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman \u2013 Military Internship Program (SKillbridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for Skillbridge. During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.\n\nGoals \u2013 Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.\n\nObjectives \\- Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission \u201cDefining Possible\u201d on Day 1. This program provides a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.\n\nOutcome \u2013 Offer transitioning service member a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team.\n\nDoD SkillBridge Eligibility:\n\n\u00b7 Has served at least 180 days on active duty\n\n\u00b7 Is within 12 months of separation or retirement\n\n\u00b7 Will receive an honorable discharge\n\n\u00b7 Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS\n\n\u00b7 Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months\n\n\u00b7 Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.\n\nSkillBridge Associate Electrical Engineer \u2013 (Electrical Ground Support Equipment)\n\nNorthrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our electrical ground support equipment group in our Chandler, AZ facility. Our electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) team supports our programs with the design, test, and sustainment of all EGSE and test support equipment hardware used in the integration and launch of our vehicles. Our EGSE team members work in a diverse set of roles across the lifecycle of a program.\n\nJob Duties: Based on specific objectives, work with a system electrical engineering team to perform analysis, design, and test of complex \u201csystem level\u201d designs with a focus on the electrical ground support equipment and test support equipment for the launch vehicle.\n\nJob responsibilities:\n\n * Broad understanding and application of company electrical engineering technical standards.\n * Broad technical expertise and working knowledge of other related disciplines.\n * Prepares and presents electrical engineering materials for Requirements and Design Reviews.\n * With minimal guidance, studies basic design concepts and criteria for more complex problems.\n * Applies electrical engineering principles to adapt or improve upon heritage features from previous successful designs of a similar nature.\n * Actively and effectively participates and contributes in a positive manner while supporting team decisions and goals.\n * Makes an extra effort to provide quality internal and external customer service.\n * Constantly seeks new sources of information and provides information necessary to meet customer needs.\n * Disciplined with escalation when required.\n * Derives requirements through multiple sources of documentation and design meetings.\n * Evaluate, with supervision, uncertainty and risks associated with requirements and designs.\n * Patriciate in trade studies for both internal projects and procured equipment.\n * Act with safety as your number one priority through every aspect of the role.\n * Provides formal peer review of simple engineering designs or analyses for less experienced engineers.\n * Completing day-to-day activities with minimal oversight of senior engineers.\n\n\n\nDesired Experience:\n\n * Knowledgeable with the use of basic test equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, and electronic loads.\n * Broad or high-level circuit design and analysis.\n\n\n\nAlso seeking experience in any of the following:\n\n * Design, test, and/or integration and deployment of electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) or test support equipment (TSE).\n * Design, test, programming, and/or integration and deployment of automated test equipment (ATE).\n * Testing of avionics, electronic components, or electrical systems using purpose designed test equipment.\n * Burndown of nonconformances and/or root cause failure analysis of electronic systems.\n * Release of engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures.\n * Leading teams or personnel in the execution of test procedures.\n * Leading teams or personnel in the design of electronic equipment.\n * Problem solving not only for technical issues, but also for schedule, cost, resource and other project challenges.\n * Mentoring and cross-training team members across a diverse set of technologies and equipment architectures used to meet customer requirements.\n * LabVIEW programming and NI hardware and software products.\n * Contributions to process improvement initiatives.\n * CompTIA Security+ or similar certifications.\n * Usage and troubleshooting of networks, Windows systems, and RHEL or other Linux distributions.\n\n\n * Experience with classified test systems or systems subject to cyber security policies.\n * Management or tracking of projects through a product life cycle.\n * Support of manufacturing engineering during the production of test equipment products.\n * Experience with telemetry systems including decoms and chapter 10 recorders.\n * Development or support of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) or other integrations labs.\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Requires a Bachelor\u2019s in Engineering or enrolled and pursuing an undergraduate Engineering degree from an accredited college/university.\n * DoD Active Secret Clearance is required. \n * U.S. Citizenship is required.\n\n\n\nIMPORTANT \u2013 Please follow these two steps prior to applying to DoD SkillBridge positions:\n\nDownload and complete the DoD SkillBridge Prescreen Form Identify DoD SkillBridge Opportunity and apply (Be sure to attach your DoD SkillBridge Prescreen form to the application)\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $65,800.00 - $98,800.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
