Skillbridge Intern Cable & Telecommunication Infrastructure Technician: Installer

The Installer performs entry-level installation of structured cabling systems, including pathway installation, cable pulling, and basic terminations. This role applies industry standards while working under supervision, ensuring proper routing, labeling, and organization of cabling systems. The Installer is responsible for maintaining quality workmanship, following project specifications, and supporting testing and documented processes.

Focus: Core technical skill development and task execution. Intended for participants ready to take on more direct responsibility in technical operations. Participants perform assigned tasks with guidance while building confidence in installation, testing, and documentation.

Key Training Areas:

• Fiber optic and copper cable installation and termination  
• Equipment mounting and infrastructure support  
• Basic testing, troubleshooting, and circuit verification  
• Reading layouts, diagrams, and work instructions  
• Documentation of completed work and labeling standards  
• Quality control and adherence to technical procedures  

Outcome: Participants are prepared for technician-level roles and are expected to complete routine tasks with growing independence and reliability.

To be considered for this position you must have the following:

• Possess an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
• Duration of training: 31 - 60 days 
• Install cable pathways (J-hooks, tray, ladder rack)
• Pull, route, and label copper cabling
• Perform basic terminations and assist with testing
• Follow installation standards and project drawings
• Placement on a track is based on prior experience, military background, technical aptitude, business needs, and program availability.
• Target MOCs 3D1X2, 3D1X7, 25L, 25B, 25H, 0612, 0631

To be eligible for SkillBridge, you must meet the following requirements:

• Must be eligible to participate in Fellowship per DoD Instruction 1322.29.
• Must be projected to receive an honorable discharge from the military.
• Must have all TAP and transition requirements completed prior to the start date.
• Must receive approval from Unit Commander or O4+ in the chain of command.
• Must be located within a commutable distance or willing/approved to relocate to the job location

The EOA Technologies SkillBridge Program is organized into five structured training tracks designed to support transitioning Service Members as they build practical, career-ready skills in telecommunications, data center infrastructure, technical operations, and leadership support functions. Each track is intended to provide hands-on learning, supervised experience, and exposure to real-world business operations.
