PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
Project LIFE is a comprehensive, multiyear transition-to-adulthood program where individuals (ages 16+) with disabilities can develop, practice, and strengthen skills that are high predictors for increased adult independence and successful, integrated community employment.
Project LIFE offers a targeted course of study combined with experiential life skills education and authentic work-based learning experiences in the local community. Utilizing evidence-based transitions education concepts, Project LIFE is a proven program model that supports our student interns on their journey to adulthood and greater independence.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project LIFE Skills Trainer provides vocational training to student interns enrolled in Project Life programming during their work-based learning experiences. This position will also provide support during classroom instruction and independent living activities. The Project LIFE Skills Trainer will be expected to learn multiple entry level jobs skills, within the Goodwill Donated Goods Retail network, the community, and in collaboration with community business partners.
Duties include but are not limited to:
External Hiring Range: $17.50 up to $18.55/hour
Retention Bonus: $1,000 after 90 days of employment.
Schedule: Monday – Friday (7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) Start and end times are flexible. A shift is 7.5 hours. The schedule may vary depending on departmental needs.
Travel Required: Some travel to community sites in Allegheny County may be required.
Required Experience: must be in supporting learning for teens and young adults with disabilities.
Bachelor’s degrees: must be in Education, teaching, or a related field.
