Job Description - Social Media and Content Operations Intern
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Social Media & Content Operations Intern to join our dynamic marketing team. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency of our content workflow, the accuracy of our performance reporting, and the continuous flow of creative ideas that drive our brand goals. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to gain hands-on experience in the strategic, logistical, and analytical side of digital marketing by directly assisting the Social Media Manager.
Key Responsibilities
The Social Media and Content Operations Intern will support the Social Media Manager through four primary areas:
1. Performance Reporting & Analysis
Assist in tracking and compiling weekly and monthly performance reports for all social channels (including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.)
Assist in monitoring and analyzing key metrics (e.g., engagement rate, reach, conversion) to show how social media activity contributes to established business objectives and goals.
Help prepare visual summaries and key takeaways to communicate performance results to the wider marketing team.
2. Content Ideation & Strategy
Actively participate in brainstorming sessions, contributing original ideas for organic and paid social content that aligns with brand messaging and current trends.
Assist in researching competitor activity and industry best practices to identify new formats, features, and content opportunities to test.
Support the creative team by collaborating on detailed briefs for new content concepts.
3. Content Creator Partnerships & Fulfillment
Assist the Social Media Manager in managing logistics for content creator campaigns, including placing product orders, ensuring timely fulfillment, and tracking shipment details to influencers.
Support the intake, organization, and naming conventions of all submitted creator-generated content and assets.
Help track and report on the performance metrics of individual creator posts to assess effectiveness and inform future partnership strategy.
4. Reddit Strategy & Community Launch
Assist the Social Media Manager in developing a launch strategy for establishing the brand's official presence on key Reddit communities (subreddits).
Support the creation of platform-native content (text posts, image posts, Ask Me Anything formats) specifically tailored to Reddit community guidelines and authentic tone.
Help monitor relevant subreddits for brand mentions, conversation opportunities, and emerging trends, summarizing insights for the team.
Assist in establishing and documenting guidelines for authentic engagement and participation within the unique Reddit ecosystem.
Qualifications & Skills
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
Proven interest in social media platforms, emerging digital trends, and content creation.
Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail and ability to manage multiple small projects.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for basic data entry and reporting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with social media analytics tools such as Sprout Social, Later, etc. (a plus, but not required).
