Sponsorship Activation Intern - Chesapeake Baysox

Attain Sports owns and manages four baseball teams: the Baltimore Orioles Double-A affiliate Chesapeake Baysox, the Baltimore Orioles High-A affiliate Frederick Keys, the MLB Draft League Aberdeen IronBirds, and the Atlantic League Professional Baseball Club Spire City Ghost Hounds. Additionally, Attain Sports is an owner of the United Soccer League (USL) Championship Club Loudoun United FC.

The Chesapeake Baysox Sponsorship Activation Intern is a part-time internship designed only for current university students who will be receiving college credit for participation in this internship. The Sponsorship Activation Intern will gain real-world experience with responsibilities within the organization. They will receive the opportunity to learn and observe how a professional sports organization operates and gain valuable skills in communication, sponsor fulfillment, and sponsorship activation.

QUALIFICATIONS

• College sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate students working for academic credit in Sport Management, Business Management, or related field. 


• Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)


• Ability to uphold company and Attain customer service standards


• Individual must be energetic, enthusiastic, and a dedicated team player


• Excellent interpersonal skills


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Ability to pay attention to details


• Knowledge of SponsorCX & Sponsor United a plus


• Ability to work event nights, weekends, and holidays as required

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Gain knowledge and experience in servicing sponsorship clients


• Gain experience in clear and friendly phone manners


• Spend time shadowing and learning from top-tier Sponsorship Sales Account Managers as directed by the Director of Corporate Partnerships.


• Contribute to the highest level of satisfaction of our clients


• Research and identify potential business for sponsorship


• Maintain accurate partner documentation, including updating contact information, tracking activation activity, and capturing photos.


• Document all aspects of sponsorship contracts and maintain documentation logs to be used in the production of Proof of Performance reports


• Assist with partnership fulfillment by tracking deadlines, deliverables, and communication between partners and the partnership/marketing team.


• Represent the organization, as needed, at outside community events and appearances


• Work Chesapeake Baysox home games as directed by the Director of Corporate Partnerships


• All other duties assigned by Director of Corporate Partnerships and General Manager of the Baysox

GAME DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take, sort, and inventory photos of in-game sponsorship activations


• Meet, grow, and maintain relationships with key sponsors during games and events


• Work alongside Marketing and Sponsorship departments to execute sponsorship activations, if needed


• Assist sponsorship team with client check-ins
