This position is located in Fayette County.

Responsibilities will be moderate and less routine and will require responsibility and good judgement. May coordinate activities for other student employees.  Requires providing excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a professional environment.  Requires previous experience and knowledge or skill in student assistant role.  Represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values. 

38 hr./week position beginning in May and ending in August at OSU Extension Fayette County, Washington Courthouse, Ohio. Support community and economic development marketing efforts for Fayette County, with a focus on business attraction/retention messaging and partner engagement. -Draft and schedule content for web, social media, e-newsletters, and partner channels highlighting Fayette County assets (workforce, quality of life, entrepreneurship, sites/buildings, grant funding, workshops). -Create short-form videos, reels, and graphics highlighting programs, partners, and success stories. -Help design marketing collateral (one-pagers, flyers, slide decks, vendor/partner spotlights) aligned with established OSU brand/style guidelines. -Conduct basic market scans (e.g., neighboring economic development agency messaging, event calendars) to inform campaign refinement. -Capture stories/testimonials (short interviews, quotes, photos) from local businesses and partners for use in outreach materials. -Support logistics and staffing for outreach events, business roundtables, and partner meetings (prep packets, sign-in, set-up/tear-down).

Assist with planning, promotion, and delivery of the Farmers Market Kids Club youth program. -Communicate with market staff, vendors, and Extension personnel to support program logistics. -Assist with weekly program planning (themes, activities, learning objectives) aligned with healthy eating and local foods education goals as applicable. -Prepare supplies; set up/tear down Kids Club booth and activity stations. -Welcome families, explain activities, distribute materials, and facilitate hands-on learning in an inclusive, youth-friendly manner. -Assist with participant check-in/check-out, incentive distribution (e.g., produce bucks), and vendor coordination for featured items/activities. -Collect participation counts, demographics (as appropriate), and brief outcome notes; administer short surveys/pulse checks. -Maintain accurate records of participant numbers, activity materials, and market token distribution for reporting purposes. -Support volunteers/community wellness ambassadors on Kids Club activities. -Post-market: inventory supplies, restock, document lessons learned, and recommend improvements for the next week. Create content (digital and print) to increase awareness and participation across target audiences as appropriate and approved. Coordinate with community partners, businesses, market manager, and Extension staff to ensure program quality and consistency. Track participation, outcomes, and feedback; contribute to evaluation and reporting. Represent OSU Extension in a professional, customer-focused manner at public events.

Hours are flexible.  This position can work up to 28 hours if taking classes and up to 38 hours during the summer and/or academic breaks.
