Student Employee - Employer Relations Assistant
As an Employer Relations Assistant at Ensign College, you will support the Career and Internship Services team by helping build and maintain strong relationships with employers, professional organizations, and campus partners. This role supports employer outreach, including cold calling potential employer partners, career fair recruitment, Handshake management, and communication efforts that help connect Ensign College students with meaningful employment and internship opportunities.
The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, and comfortable communicating with employers by phone, email, and in person. This individual should have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage tasks in systems such as Handshake. They should be a self-starter who can work independently, follow through on assignments, and represent Ensign College with confidence and professionalism.

We are looking for a minimum two-semester commitment from student employees.
Responsibilities
Employer Outreach and Relationship Support - 60%
Assist Career and Internship Services leadership in cultivating relationships with targeted employers and professional organizations through cold calls, phone calls, emails, meetings, career fairs, association events, and other outreach efforts.
Help increase the visibility of Ensign College and its students within relevant professional communities.
Support efforts to grow employer participation in career fairs, networking events, internship opportunities, and job recruitment activities.
Maintain professional communication with employers and campus partners to ensure a positive experience with Ensign College.
Handshake Data and Reporting - 15%
Update, distribute, collect, and analyze information in Handshake and related tracking systems.
Help maintain accurate employer, job posting, event, and student engagement data.
Assist with preparing reports, summaries, and insights related to employer engagement, career fair participation, and industry trends.
System and Vendor Communication - 15%
Support the management of Handshake and related online career systems.
Serve as a point of contact for basic system-related communication with users, employers, and internal team members.
Assist with troubleshooting, process documentation, and system updates as assigned.
Handshake and Event Support - 10%
Review and approve appropriate job postings in Handshake according to office guidelines.
Assist students and employers with Handshake sign-up, event registration, and basic navigation questions.
Create and update career fair, employer information session, workshop, and recruiting events in Handshake.
Provide support before, during, and after career fairs and employer-related events.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate professionally and confidently with employers, business leaders, students, and campus partners.
Strong relationship-building skills and a service-oriented mindset.
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to follow through on multiple assignments.
Comfortable learning and using technology systems such as Handshake, spreadsheets, email, and shared documents.
Able to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Professional, dependable, and willing to take initiative.
Preferred Preparation
