Scheduling and Hours

Must have morning or afternoon availability. Library hours will fluctuate every semester during finals and breaks; for the most updated library hours, please visit our hours page.

Student employees are expected to adhere to a pre-agreed schedule created at the start of each semester. When providing your availability, please consider study time and other campus commitments. Any changes to the schedule must be discussed with the student’s supervisor.

Skills Required to Perform This Position

• Applicant must be able to communicate effectively with staff, students, and other library patrons.
• Applicant must have basic computer literacy skills, which includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft 360 and Adobe Acrobat.
• Applicant must have the ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Applicant must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Applicant must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
• Applicant must be willing to complete monotonous tasks.

Skills Preferred to Perform This Position

• Familiarity with McFarlin building and website.
• Familiarity with searching for library materials.
• Familiarity with Library of Congress classifications.
