Title: Student Technologist Assistant\n\nUnit: Medical Imaging\n\nHours: Saturday, 8a-4:30p, PRN\n\nFacility: MVHN\n\nPosition Summary:\n\nAssists Medical Imaging staff with various procedures necessary to the operational efficiency of the department. Assists with image processing, image management, and patient care. Carries out duties as directed by various Medical Imaging staff in the assigned area. Is knowledgeable in the daily activities of Medical Imaging and provides patients with the utmost quality of care. May perform procedures in other imaging modalities based on departmental needs. \n\n \n\nEssential Duties \u0026 Functions: \n1\\. Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the Medical Imaging procedure.\n\n2\\. Implements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed safety standards.\n\n3\\. Assists technologists and nurses in procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.\n\n4\\. Coordinates patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction\n\n5\\. Maintains knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.\n\n6\\. Follows radiation safety policies and procedures.\n\n \n \n\nEducation: \nMinimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED \nAdditional requirements: \n* Type of degree: Allied Health \n* Area of study or major: Medical Imaging \n* Preferred educational qualifications: Attending an AMA-accredited program of Medical Imaging \n \nLicensure/Certification/Registration \n* CPR certification required \n \nExperience: \nMinimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experience \nPreferred experience: Some Medical Imaging experience in an environment consistent with the types of patients and procedures performed within the Medical Imaging Department. \n\nKnowledge/Skills: \n\u00a7 Highly motivated, goal-oriented, with strong communication \u0026 interpersonal skills.\n\n\u00a7 Ability to evaluate \u0026 prioritize department, technologist and/or nurse, \u0026 patient needs. \n \n \n
