Position Summary:
The Ithaca Care Collective is looking for a dependable, caring Ithaca College Work Study student to join us at the West Village Community Drop-In! This is a hands-on position where you'll help out with the day-to-day running of our free, community-based childcare program. You'll spend time with young children, help create a safe and welcoming space, and get to know families and neighbors in the West Village community. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys being around kids and isn't afraid to jump in and PLAY! It's a great opportunity to get off campus, connect with the Ithaca community, and be part of a fun, caring space for children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- PLAY with children. Care for them. Be patient, and guide them during the day.
- Support supervision of children ages 18 months to 5 years in a play-based, drop-in setting
- Assist in setting up and cleaning up daily activities, materials, and space
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities such as reading, art, sensory play, and outdoor play
- Welcome families and help create a warm, inclusive environment
- Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to ensure children's safety and well-being
- Follow all safety, health, and program guidelines

Schedule (Must be available for one of these options):
- Option 1: M/W/F 8:30am–12:30pm
- Option 2: M/W/F 9:00am–12:00pm
- Option 3: M–F 9:00am–12:00pm
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour
Job Title: Federal Work Study Kitchen Help – West Village Community Drop-In

Location: West Village Community Drop-In, 150 W. Village Place, Ithaca, NY
Position Summary:
The Ithaca Care Collective is looking for a dependable and caring Ithaca College Federal Work Study student to provide kitchen and meal support at the West Village Community Drop-In, our free, community-based childcare program. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys cooking, working around young children, and contributing to a welcoming community space. You'll help us plan and prepare simple, nutritious breakfasts and lunches for children ages 18 months to 5 years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating a weekly menu
- Setting the table
- Assist in preparing and serving breakfast
- Assist in preparing and serving lunch
- Kitchen cleanup
- Follow all program food safety, sanitation, health, and allergy guidelines
Qualifications:
- Be dependable and show up for scheduled shifts
- Enjoy preparing food and working in a community-centered environment
- Patient, responsible, and organized
- Able to follow directions and work independently when needed
- Willing to clean up and wash dishes after meal preparation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Previous cooking or kitchen experience is helpful but not required

- Option 1: Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
- Option 2: Monday/Wednesday/Friday, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
- Option 3: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Pay Rate: $17.00/hour
