In this role, the Study Away Student Assistant will work with the International Programs Manager to recruit students to Study Away through individual meetings, info sessions, events, and creation of promotional materials. The Student Assistant will learn about eligibility requirements and application processes and will communicate program information regarding numerous international and domestic study away opportunities.
The Study Away Assistant will also be responsible for keeping student files up to date, leading and assisting in programs and events relating to study away, and tracking student interest. The Student Assistant will work from the Office of Intercultural Success and/or the Pope Center, depending on staffing needs for each area. Starting pay is $12/hr.
Job Duties:
-Maintain a working knowledge of international and National Student Exchange programs.
-Communicate information about upcoming application deadlines, missing paperwork, scholarships, timelines, etc.
-Explain the benefits of Studying Away, both academic and personal.
-Educate staff/faculty/students about the value of studying away through outreach within and outside of campus.
-Respect and understanding of student confidentiality guidelines.
-Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
-Promote upcoming events and programs to campus and the community.
-Lead and attend Study Away-related programming and events.
-Maintain accurate records on Study Away student meetings and activities.
-Provide office support including, but not limited to greeting/meeting with walk-ins, responding to emails, creating promotions, postering, and scheduling appointments.
-Aid students in using all resources offered through Study Away Programs.
-Spread awareness of campus resources and make appropriate referrals for students to other campus departments.
-Perform other duties as needed, including supporting international and underrepresented/minoritized students.

It will also require your references to answer questions regarding employee misconduct, sexual violence and sexual harassment. The University reserves the right to check references with notice given to the candidates at the appropriate time in the process.
