Chicago Public Schools’ (CPS) mission is to provide a high-quality public education for every child, in every neighborhood.  Our neighborhood schools are integral parts of this ambitious goal to prepare each student for success in college, career and civic life. Neighborhood schools must be supported and bolstered to ensure all students can benefit from quality daily student learning experiences. The heart of this work is ensuring those affected by our policies and systems are empowered to collaborate with CPS.

In response to this need, CPS applied to the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) for the Fostering Diverse Schools (FDS) Demonstration Grant to reimagine local education with disinvested communities. The purpose of the Chicago Communities Co-Creating Education (CCCE) project is to authentically engage three disinvested communities, Austin, Roseland, and Washington Park, to co-create a transformative local Education Plan with our core values in mind.
