Summer 2026 C++ 23 Internship, Avoinics

Join us for a hands-on, full-time summer internship experience at our Berthoud, CO location! 
Ursa Major’s Summer 2026 Internship Program offers students the opportunity to gain real-world experience in the aerospace and defense industry while contributing to meaningful, high-impact projects that support our mission and drive innovation in propulsion and advanced manufacturing. 

Ursa Major is currently seeking a talented individual for our Avionics C++23 Internship. As an intern on a fast growing, fast-moving team, you will be challenged with learning and applying C++ programming skills in the unit testing and code review of network oriented front end and backend applications. We thrive on supporting autonomy relatedness and competence! 

Required Qualifications: 

• Background in computer science or software engineering. 


• Must be an academic Junior and above by May 2025. 


• Love of computer programming. 


• Hands-on C++ programming experience, preferably C++23. 


• Demonstrated teamwork and ability to communicate effectively in a group setting. 


• Drive to continuously improve skills. 

Responsibilities: 

• Read our existing C++23 code, ask questions about it, and write additional unit tests for it also in C++23. 


• Open issues for bugs found or for feature enhancements for aiding its testing. 


• Participate in code reviews of C++23 source code. 


• Use the C++23 software products and make suggestions for their improvement. 

Program Details: 

• Location: On-site at our Berthoud, CO facility 


• Duration: Approximately 10–12 weeks 


• Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday 


• This is a paid internship 

Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $29.00/hour, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary range for this role is intentionally wide as we are evaluating individuals based on their unique experience and abilities to fit our needs.
