We are currently looking for a Safety, Health \u0026 Encironment Intern, at our Newark, NJ. office.\n\nThe 2026 dsm-firmenich Summer Internship Program will run from June 1, 2026 to August 14, 2026.\n\nWorking Hours: Monday \u2013 Friday, 8:30am \u2013 5:00pm\n\nYour key responsibilities\n\n * Exposure to work in the production plant while working on a specific project and utilizing their academic background to do data analysis, etc.\n * Assist with conducting hazard assessments, risk assessments, and Job Hazard Analyses for processes, equipment, and work areas\n * Work cross\u2011functionally with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to integrate safety into daily workflows.\n * Support the development and implementation of safety programs, procedures, and site\u2011specific safety plans\n * Participate in process optimization studies, efficiency and improvement. \n\n\n\nWe offer\n\n * Build Your Future Skills: Gain hands-on experience and develop practical skills that prepare you for a successful career.\n * Expand Your Network: Connect with professionals and peers in a company where sustainability drives every decision and action.\n * Thrive in an Inclusive Culture: Join a community that values and respects every individual\u2014regardless of background, beliefs, or identity.\n * Grow Through Curiosity: Work in an environment that encourages open-mindedness, learning, and collaboration to create a better future together\n\n\n\nYou bring\n\n * A Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field student, in their Junior or Senior year, and has been exposed to the following subjects:\n * Familiarity with OSHA/EPA regulations and basic safety principles\n * Mass Flow/Unit Operations \n * An interest in working in a chemical lab or plant environment.\n * Safety-oriented, flexible, interested to work in a dynamic hands-on production environment.\n * Great communication skills and effective in implementing changes.\n\n\n\nThe hourly rate for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour.
