Summer Intern - Commercial Construction

Landmark Builders is seeking a full-time Summer Intern in its Charlotte, NC office.

Job Summary
The Summer Intern position represents a first step towards becoming a Project Manager, Project Superintendent, and more with Landmark Builders.  To maximize this growth opportunity, Interns will be rotated through several selected commercial construction sites and the Landmark home office with most of their time being spent in the field.  Throughout this internship they will assist, support and learn from the Project Superintendent, Project Manager, and other project personnel.  Interns will gain invaluable construction experience, technical expertise, and confidence while serving as contributing members of Landmark project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in completion of daily construction reports and related records.
• Participate in takeoff, pricing, and ordering of miscellaneous materials.
• Perform miscellaneous general labor and hands on construction tasks as needed.
• Assist in preparation and implementation of detailed two-week look ahead schedules.
• Participate in weekly subcontractor progress meetings and regular owner/architect meetings, assisting Project Managers with meeting minutes as necessary.
• Assist with submittal and RFI processes.
• Assist in maintaining Landmark quality control and safety standards.
• Maintain open lines of communication with Project Manager, Project Superintendent, field staff, architects, subcontractors, etc., keeping the entire team informed of project issues and changes.

• Current enrollment in Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree program
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
