Summer Program Team Member

Under the guidance of our Recreation Coordinator, you'll help bring our recreation program to life-leading games, activities, and events that make every day exciting for the youth in our care. You'll be working as part of a team that supports personal growth, social skills, and self-confidence, all while building your own leadership experience.

Specific Duties

• Supervises youth assigned to the summer recreation program

• Significant involvement in leading activities and interacting with children in the rec. program.

• Describes appropriate skills or behaviors to youth. Provides rationales why youth should or should not do certain things.

• Practices appropriate skills to youth in order to increase a positive environment. Role plays pertinent skills with youth until they are comfortable using them.

• Provides feedback to youth to ensure skills development


• Implements consequences for appropriate or inappropriate behaviors. Rewards youth with praise and positive points for practicing and displaying appropriate behavior.

• Works alongside youth, serving as a role model for youth by exhibiting positive behaviors.

• Utilizes the Mooseheart Model of Care

• Maintains confidentiality of company, student, and staff information sharing only on a need-to-know basis.

This position will require the employee to be subject to outside environmental conditions, occasionally; inside conditions frequently with protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
