Supply Chain Intern

Internship Details:

·       Duration: 10 weeks (Summer 2027)

·       Schedule: Monday – Friday; Approximately 8 hours per day/40 hours per week

·       Pay: $19.00/hour

·       Benefits: This role is not eligible for benefits

About the Role:

As a Supply Chain Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Planning & Inventory Management: Support demand planning, inventory analysis, and material flow activities.
• Procurement & Supplier Coordination: Assist with purchase order tracking, supplier communication, and inventory replenishment processes.
• Data Analytics & Reporting: Analyze supply chain performance metrics and develop recommendations to improve efficiency and service levels.
• Warehouse & Logistics Exposure: Gain visibility into transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations.
• Process Improvement Initiatives: Support projects focused on inventory accuracy, service improvements, and cost optimization.

What we look for in a Supply Chain Intern:

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Interest in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, and operations.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
• Currently enrolled in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Logistics, Engineering, or a related academic program.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in both office and manufacturing plant environments.
• Frequent exposure to production areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, moving machinery, forklifts, and other industrial conditions.
• Must follow all safety requirements and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout manufacturing facilities.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated platforms as necessary.
• Must be able to occasionally bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and work around equipment during project activities.
• Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Periodic travel may be required to other MSI Express locations and end-of-internship events.
