Description

The Surgical Technologist Residency Student is a student who has not yet completed an accredited Surgical Technology program (CAAHEP or ABHES) but is able to perform tasks in the surgical setting under the delegation of authority of a licensed health care practitioner and a staff Surgical Technologist preceptor. Surgical Technologist Resident Students will function as a clinical student during their program clinical experience. This experience will be educational, and the student will not function independently. The primary duties are outlined in WAC 246-939-030.

Required Qualifications:

  • upon hire: Washington Surgical Technologist Registration 

  • 1 year Currently enrolled in a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited surgical technology program and has completed program-specific lab skill checkoffs.
